ABOUT US

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The Khris Mapp Project is a Roseville, MI based  non profit organization founded and established on the principles of charity, healing, and community.

We set out to transform the lives of Roseville,  area kids ages 5-11 in need of back to school supplies and clothing to help prepare them for a quality education and life.

We have four main focus areas:

1. Operation: The Khris Mapp Project directly benefits students living in the Roseville are by providing a fully supplied backpack or messenger bag to encourage attendance and assist in being successful in the new school year. These bags also contain the essentials to maintain proper hygiene to help those students who-through out circumstances beyond their control-find themselves in a difficult place.

2. Success Beyond The Backpack:

KMP helps students have access to school uniforms and clothing necessary to start their school year.

3. Mentorship: KMP works alongside local social work organizations and others to promote the importance of giving back and to provide youth with the opportunity to participate in community service and programs which, in turn, develops them as responsible citizens of society.

4.  Home Stability: Over the past 5 years, the Khris Mapp Project has provided needy children from the surrounding community with free clothing and school supplies. Many of these children come from broken and low income homes and the KMP organization has become a source of inspiration and stability for them in their time of need. Yet, there is more work to be done and we are ready, willing, and able to do more and hope that you can help.

According to the Ann E. Casey and The Skillman Foundation the number of children living in poverty in the Detroit area has risen to more than 36% within a short two year period. Statistics like these continue to rise and without the support of donations and funding many more Roseville, MI area children will continue to suffer and face worse challenges. While we have proven in these last three years that we are committed to improving the lives of youth, we want to be able to provide a safe and nurturing space that can incorporate resources, counseling, and training to help the youth that are part of the KMP community have a chance at a better life.
